Affordability & Discount Programs

Premier participates in three federal and state affordability programs:

Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP)

ACP is an FCC benefit program that helps you save on your Internet bill, getting high speed Internet for a reduced cost.

The Affordable Connectivity Program is administered by USAC with oversight from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

How much do I save with an ACP discount?

Get a service discount of $30/mo. This means you can get Internet service for just $9.95/mo after discount*

* one service discount per household. Discount applies to service tier only, taxes, fees and equipment are not discounted

How can I qualify?

  • You, or your child or dependent are enrolled in government programs like Medicaid, SNAP, WIC, or others, or,
  • Based on your household income
  • You must recertify every year to continue your discount

How do I sign up for the program?

  1. Gather documentation.

    You may need to provide documents to confirm your eligibility, identity, or address. Learn more about what documents you may need to submit

  2. Apply online or by mail

  3. Get Internet

    Once you complete the application process, contact us. Keep your ACP application ID# handy.

Lifeline Assistance Program

Lifeline is a federal benefit that lowers the monthly cost of your telephone or internet service.

How much do I save with a Lifeline discount

Your choice of discount on your telephone service OR your Internet service*

Telephone discount: $6.50
Internet discount: $9.25

* one service discount per household. Discount applies to service tier only, taxes, fees and equipment are not discounted

How can I qualify?

  • Based on your household income
  • Based on if you use SNAP, Medicaid or other programs
  • You must recertify every year to continue your discount

How do I sign up for Lifeline?

  1. Qualify

    Apply to confirm you qualify for the Lifeline program. Use the Lifeline National Verifier to enter your information, create an account, and see if you qualify.

  2. Have us apply your Lifeline discount to your Premier bill

    If you qualify, you have 90 days to sign up for Internet service. If you already have Internet service, you can ask us to apply your Lifeline benefit to your current Internet service.

You may need to show other documentations

If the Lifeline National Verifier is not able to prove that you qualify with only the information given, they may ask you to show official documents as proof.

If they ask you for official documents, you will be able to upload the documents right away or save your application and come back later.

Minnesota Telephone Assistance Program (TAP)

Minnesota offers additional assistance to low-income households located in Minnesota for monthly landline telephone service.
